Floyd “Money” Mayweather - new title from his stint at WWE is said to be pushing through a rematch with Oscar De La Hoya sometime in September. Dates are still tentative but it looks like they are looking at the 13th of September or the 20th of the same month. Nothing has been finalized but promoters said that the chances of the rematch happening is high and almost a certainty. This is what Golden Boy Promotions’ CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN.
As you all know, the first Oscar De La Hoya VS Floyd Mayweather Match-up last May broke all Pay-Per-View records for a boxing match. All tickets to the fight sold out three days after it was made available. Numbers were, total gross of $165 million; pay-per-view subscriptions worth 2.4 million; pay-per-view gross $134.4 million and live gates made $18,419,200. WOW! Wish they could share some of that. lol
Although, the first fight was said to lack action. I don’t know what to expect on this rematch. A rematch with Oscar De La Hoya would also delay Floyd Mayweather’s planned jump to mixed martial arts. He has somewhat discussed this with “Dancing with the Stars” pal and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who also owns his own MMA promotional company.

This is a follow up post on the write up I did about the Big Show VS Floyd “Money” Mayweather wrestlemania match. Most of us got shocked as to the outcome of the fight. March 30 is the date and WrestleMania is the event! See the Big Show VS Floyd Mayweather battle it out on the WWE ring. It’s you classic David VS Goliath match up where you see and upset most of the times. I wouldn’t know about this one. Look at the size advantage!
The offer for Mayweather to appear on the WWE was said to be $20 million. Everything is already scripted. I know it still is dangerous but heck, Mayweather is a professional boxer and he has already faced the risk of getting injured throughout his career. Now, who in his right mind would refuse such an offer? I know, I wouldn’t! Would you?
I stopped watching the WWF now WWE when I knew that the matches were all played out and not fought. I guess that was way when I was 10 years old but I will be watching this.
